Did you happen to get a picture of the remnants? I'm interested on how the tip looked, mashed, beated or hit?
No, I didn't even think of taking a picture. Perhaps I can dig it out of the trash at work today.

The tip was not damaged at all; just a little dark from age like a plug should look. The topmost two threads were flattened from being overtorqued, though.

Oh..gotcha. First read through I though you meant the plug had gotten whacked in the cylinder.

Good thing about office trash: spark plugs sift past the paper and cups to the bottom of the bag.

It'* a little fouled on the metal ring, but seeing as how I ended up limping to my destination with a bad wire, and then limping home with the cylinder unplugged, I'm not at all surprised.

Don't tell anyone, but when wires fight and are being replaced. I've been known to break off the end of the plug like that. 00+ owners will understand, W body guys have about the same amount of room behind the engine.

Well, a few days ago, I was able to change the front three wires before the rain turned into a downpour, and that took care of the issues. Changed the rear three the next day, and the engine is running like it'* new. (I love a good tune-up.) Spark plugs are happening this weekend.

Once again, thanks for the help, everyone.
