Default Slipping Trans

I know what a slipping trans is like when I had Chryslers. Flaring revs, bucking bronco shifts, and all. But are the modern computers in our cars actually able to hide sliping in a 4T65-E. My car shifts smooth as can be but slowly. Under 1/4 throttle 2nd gear will go up to 50ish, the rpm will hold for a second and then shift to third. The transaction is smooth but is this still a slip?
