Default She'* goig back "Under the knife"..

Well, by tomorrow night, Tuesday at the latest, I'll have a new engine in my car. She threw a rod last night. Got the final diagnosis this afternoon. Even got to see the rod...

According to the mechaninc, when the dealership in Sioux Falls replaced my upper and lower intakes, they lit it sit too long, and the antifreeze ate the internals. So, just about $2500 in parts and labour gets me a new engine sith a 12 month warranty.....

They say "Lifes hard, then you get a puppy"...

Where'* my puppy? I been through the hard part, I deserve my puppy....

Oh, goody. It just got better [/sarcasm] When she blew, she did it right. Took out the tranny, too. Apparently, when she went, she threw her guts through the tranny case and diff....

They called and talked to the Missus, so I didn't get the gorey details, but the cost just went up a grand. We talked, I did some searching online, and we're keepin' Leroy. Still owe to much on the car, and are in too much of a bind, to go shopping right now and find something I'd be willing to drive. Getting a new engine, and tranny.....

Not a happy camper, tho. Dang, I wish I coulda talked 'em into changing her into an SC SE for me.

Oh well, bright side is it'* only money. We'll find it somewhere. Noone was hurt, except in the wallet. And I still have my beloved Bonne. Although, with all the big reapirs lately, it'* working moving from "Beloved" to "Beliked" ot "Be-lucky I don't take a torch to yer ***..."

Sorry to hear about the bad news.

Can you some how go after the shop that did the upper intake for you, do they know the engine failed?

That idea has already been discussed. Gotta wait for The Missus to get home and track down the PW for the intake replacement.

The owner of the shop (Jeff'* Bobby and Steve'* in MPLS, btw. Great people. Labor is pricey, but they are very honest. And when they fix it, it stays fixed) says we "don't have a case. They did the reapir correctly, but probably not quick enough to prevent damage from the hydrolock". Couldn't hurt to call, tho. Worst they can do is say no....
