Default Shaking

I have a 1998 SSE. When I accelerate from a traffic stop, sometimes the cars shakes/jerks for a moment (seems like the transmission is jerking). This only occurs once or twice a week. Otherwise the car rides great. I need to do some things to tweak it up

Thanks,

Kentlamp

What you describe is typically an ignition problem. How many miles on your plugs and wires?

Many stumbling or jerking symptoms are wrongly attributed to the trans. If you're due for a tuneup anyway, I'd do it, just to rule all that out.

my Regal has shaken rather bad a few times in the past.Happened worse on a hot day when doing a "vigorous" pullout but not enough to spin the tires. The dashboard was flapping up and down violently.Startled the sh#t outta me.I thought it was wheel hop at first but the wheels didn't seem to be hopping when I paid attention. Another time it happened when I gave it enough gas to break the tires loose and got some wheel hop but the dash still fluttered like hell. This was the trans and it'* called a "launch shudder" and is one of the symptoms mentioned on GM'* TSB regarding the PCS valve malfunction in the 4t65e.Don't know how bad your'* shakes but something to consider if a tuneup doesn't fix it.
