i was driving down the road last night riding smoothly as always when i accerlerated above 50 its started to do a little shake,,i tap the brake the shaking stops (never going over 50 anymore)
what could cause that to happen ? i hope its not the transmission slipping.
PS. my serpintine belt is pretty worn out and i need to replace it.

#1 supsect for vibration that comes on at 55 is tire balance.
If you feel the vibration in the steering wheel, this would support the balance theory. If you feel it though the car body (i.e. through your seat) and NOT through the wheel, it may be something else.

If its in the wheel already then prolly one of the fronts has a bad tire and they need to be checked/balanced
If its not, rotate them in an X pattern and if the problem THEN comes from the fronts then one of the *NOW* front tires has a bad tire and they need to be checked/balanced.
During the rotation visually inspect all the tires by rotating them around to see if you see any bad spots in the tires, ie bubbles, warps, bad cracks in the treads, nails, screws, etc...
If you do this and nothing changes, let us know

Ok thanks guys thats prolly 60% what the problem is, i mean the tires got i decent amount of tred but yet a few of them have cracks along the sides.
if its not the tires, what else can be the cause of a random car shake going over 50?

Ok,thanks alot..i guess its not a good idea to keep it in Over drive for everyday driving..i think thats what was causing the car to shake a little while moving 45-50+
