good video. thanks for the help. only wish i would have looked at it and read the advice closer. i cut one white wire & soldered the resistors in. in other words i didn't bypass the key. it is working though. thanks again!

so cut the other wire and cut one side of the resistor (key side) and solder it together so the key side is not connected. right now you have it in series which means the key is additive to the resistor you soldered in. so say your key was 100 ohms now the tdm sees 200. im not sure how it even works. also you didnt bypass the problem which is normally in the column.

Yes, I saw the error of my ways..I cut/ soldered & now the light is out. Thanks again. Now I need to start a thread for another issue.
