What type of noise would you say that is?? B/C i hear a whiney noise ..but im almost positive thats normal..

That whine is trademark. That'* the sign of a force-fed engine. They all whine. You should be able to hear it in the cockpit. What you want to listen for is a rattling at idle....an indication of a supercharger coupler going out (not likely with your car yet) or a grinding/rumbling.....bad sounds. If you don't have these sounds, and do have the whine, and you're making 9-10 psi of boost, you're in good shape!

I think this comes from the early superchargers, like on the 92-95 models, which tend to leak. Once the oil all leaks out, the bearings are no longer lubricated and grind themselves up. I don't think people knew how to maintain the */C. The owners aren't totally to blame. Pontiac did not include */C maintenance in the 92 or 93 maintenance schedules that came with the car.

Fuddy nailed it. Mine is that way. The SC cars, at least Series 1, were the ugly stepchild at the dealer. It took the production numbers sparked by the GP to make it mainstream.
