Default RUST..EERRGGHH

I was wondering i was looking att the back passenger wheel well, and there is a black rubber seal maybe, that looks like it is screwed to the car between the door and door jamb, does this have a piece of metal support in it? It looks like the rubber piece has metal in it, and thats what is rusted, is doesnt look like the actual car is rusted, just the metal piece in the rubber seal thing, but if there isnt metal support in the rubber seal deal, then i guess the car is rusting! BAGH!!

Yes they have metal inserts. Mine rusted so I bought a new set on GM Parts Direct.

*25544906 SEALING * $16.02 (passenger side)
*25544907 SEALING * $16.02 (driver side)

Cleaned what ever rust was behind the seals and put new ones on. That area seems to be a catch-all for grim and gunk.
