rough idle and a sulphur smell

I've had an intermittent rough idle for awhile now. Just been too lazy to spray down my wires. The other night though it did it again but was followed with a sulphur smell like a bad cat. With 384k on it I'm wondrin if I have 2 separate problems here or are they related. EGR or O2? But NO codes thrown. Anyone had similar prob? Thanks

I had the exact same symptoms but it was a constant rough idle with backfires. I changed spark plugs and wires. Solved the problem. I found two plugs smelling like fuel so my guess I had two bad wires.
