Yes they certainly do..... I've got through 2 front passanger roof handles....
I tell my friends not to grab them anymore... they are for decoration.....
When they ask what they should grab onto / do , I say "Uh, well...just try to go limp".... good old Otto....

They work fine if you use 1 3/4" finishing screws and a little caulk. Haven't had a problem with mine for over 6 months now...

I bought a brand new, $38.50 front passenger handle and both clips broke upon installation!! I EVEN GREASED THE CLIPS AND RECEPTACLES TO MAKE THEM SLIDE IN SAFELY, to no avail . I'm not sure, but i think the push pins broke the clips when i pushed them in. I remember testing the handle after pushing it in, but after i put in the pins, it fell out.

two of mine broke about two years ago... replaced them with new ones from gm and no problem to date
