Default Replacing fuel tank on a 1996

Help.

I have purchased a second market fuel tank, but it does not have the grounding strap connection that the original tank had. The unit was a delco electronics 5V vout gnd plug with the numbers 162117496124 on it. It broke off while removing the old tank, so am I screwed or is there something else I can do.

As well, the fuel line from the sending unit has corroded, can I cut it back to an uncorroded spot and use a flex hose to the filter, or will I need to spring for a new sending unit.

Thank you in advance.

timone.

Default strap

Grounding strap was put there for a reason. You will need to fabricate something or return the tank for an OEM. Even if its used.
You can run a rubber line to the filter but should flare the end of the metal line where it was cut and us a double clamp.
