Oh I see.
Interesting (at least to me)
I bet that'* the troublemaker since all the lines and connections look great.

There may also be another part on top of the canister. My 97 has both a purge valve and an evap solenoid. Then diagnosing to find out what is wrong first is key. Otherwise you are shotgunning parts and rule one of shotgunning is ....the bad part is the last one you change.

an Update:
I got the solenoid valve on today and I started it up, no problem there. I backed up and let it idle for a few minutes (was gathering stuff) I turned it off and decided to check the gas cap to see if the pressure release problem was solved....
Opened it and came out about .5 to a gallon of gas spewing.. Good thing I moved out of the way fast enough.
I'm even more mystified.

Hmm...that'* not right at all. Sounds like you need to pull your charcoal canister off and turn it upside into a old towel or something, and see if it is full of gas. I am assuming it is, by the way gas spewed out when you opened the cap. (certain cars have the vapor line attached to the fill neck, and could get gas in it if topped off). Something seems to be clogging/clogged, and may pose a hazard.

It can blow up for all I care.
Does anyone know if the charcoal canister is salvageable? Or is it one of those items once something gets in there, it is permenantly ruined.
