Default Removing front license plate bracket?

I just received my new license plate bracket today. Umm....how do i get the old one off? After removing the license plate, there are are 2 bolts/screws/not sure towards the upper right and left-hand corners. These seem to be the only thing holding the bracket on. There is nothing behind the bracket (behind the bumper cover), and I can't just pull it off. I am drawing a blank here. I did manage to bust (oops) the one corner so I can't even just leave it. Any help ASAP is always appreciated.

There should be two on the under side, also.
