Default Rear View Mirror connection?

I noticed on my auto dim rear view mirror their is a port where I could possible connect something to it. I want to know what in the world I can connect to it. Also Curious if the side mirrors also dim automatically. Have 95 SSEI. Thanks.

The side mirrors do not dim.

There is no port for connecting accessories to.

What port are you talking about? Do you mean the photocell eye?

I mean the connector on the original rear view mirror directly right beside the connector which is hooked up the the wiring. the other connector has a plastic cover over it and i only wanted to know for what reason, or maybe it is for models with auto dimming side mirrors?!?

and here are some pics of the other Mirror i have which i want to know for what model this is normaly and how i need to wire it up in my Bonne so that everything works.

I also want to know if someone have a idea what that plastic housing i covering. is this a compass or a rain sensor or something like that???

Your new mirror looks like an early/mid 90'* Cadillac mirror with compass and autodimming.
