Blower control switch replacement

Blower control switch replacement
I have a 92 Bonneville SE. It has ***** to control; fan speed, temperature, and air placement. I have replaced the blower motor. The fan will work on the first three settings on the switch, but not on the fourth or "high" setting. I also have a problem with low air flow through my vents. All vents seem to flow evenly.
I am wondering how to remove the control switch, without damaging the dash panels also. Do they just pop off?
Thanks

THANKS BILLBOOST37 your answer was dead on. Thanks to Eric, and Kevin also. I replaced the resistor, cleaned the evaporator core too. The cool is blowing on HIGH now thanks to my last part installed..... the Relay :o) glad to have the wind blowing again.
