Rear door weather striping. (seal strip)
That strip that mounts to the body to seal the rear door to the wheel well on my car has gone to crap. It seems the reinforcing steel that is inside the rubber has rotted out. It called my attention as I saw rust stains on the GFX. Is this common? I got the GM part numbers, and they arent cheap to replace.
But I want to before the rusting promotes rusting to the body. The damn things are all corroded and brittle. Im afraid that the bare metal now protruding thru the rubber will scratch the paint in the wheel well.

are the part numbers. They are $24.25/ea at the dealer and $14.XX on GM Parts direct, but still $42 for the set after shipping.

I recently replaced all my door weatherstripping and some of the finer trim pieces associated with it. I got a deal from the local supplier (dealer) and got it all for around $600. Like I said though, I did all the door seals (large and small) and some hard plastic trim too (oh, and visor mounts for the interior).
