Default Pulsating Brakes

Resently I bought a 97 SSEi and drove from IN to Los Angeles. The brakes were fine when I left IN but when I got close to LA I noticed the brakes pulsating like the rotors were warped. After driving in LA for a few months it went away. Now since I've driven back to IN, it did it again. Could my flexible brake lines be going bad or what?
Thank You
P.*. Got 35 mpg driving there and back
20-22 in LA

I'll assume for the moment that since you bought the car no one has looked at the condition of the brakes. You did not say how many miles are on this car but I can almost assure you that those brake lines(if they have never been replaced) are due to be replaced now. If you decide to replace the pads and rotors, I personally found that the cheapest rotors from China last about a year or two(at the most) before they warp. Spend a few more bucks and get decent rotors. OE Pads from AC-Delco(DuraStop) are good as are pads from Wagner(ThermoQuiet). Of course, don't forget to bleed your brakes(all of them) starting from the right rear of the car.

The car has 100K and the rotors have been changed. I seen an article somewhere for slotted rotors [advertisement] would this be a good investment, with new hoses and pads. I was thinking the hoses could beholding more pressure against the rotors and causing them to warp. would the slotted rotors cut down on heat?

No, I really doubt you need slotted rotors. What you do need is properly-torqued lug nuts, done by hand with a torque wrench (not an air-powered impact wrench) to the correct setting (100 lbs./ft. I think it is).

Put one (1) drop of oil on the threads for an accurate reading, then tighten the nuts in a star pattern across the wheel, first to 80, then to 90, then to 100.

Uneven brake pad deposits on the rotors are frequently misdiagnosed as warped rotors. Here is an interesting article thatexplaies the situation and may explain your problem.
