Default UIM

When I took my UIM apart, I also noticed puddles of oil at the two hidden bolts. Is it an issue of too little torque on the LIM bolts? There were also some puddles of oil at two of the outside LIM bolts also, so I don't think it'* related to the PCV.

Inside it is related to the PCV. There'* no other way for oil to get up there. It'* in the heads and under the lower intake, not above.

Default UIM

I agree with the oil inside the UIM coming from the PCV. However, I also had two spots on the LIM where oil was puddling on top of the bolts. One was at #6 cylinder position and the other at #3 position. The LIM gasket was changed with factory gaskets at 57K miles and the engine now has 86K miles. I removed it now to repair the UIM for coolant usage and that'* when I noticed the oil inside the LIM.

Just curious as to where the outside oil was coming from. It wasn't puddling on each LIM bolt, only those two locations.

Default Well

Bent vavle
broke rod
junk crank
broke piston

The piston was in the bore like side ways!! With the hung open intake vavle pushed all the oil in the intake!! WOW I dont think my friend told me all the back ground on this car, whats new----- What would have done this? Kind of funny? The cyl. did not even have a mark on it! Even with the piston side ways? A little tap with hammer and it came right out. Bad ROD??

Thank you for the help guys slapping a motor in it.

did it mess up any of the bottom or top end?

Could you just replace the rod?

I doubt the parts will work. The pistons haro has are L67 and hardened etc. The original 96 NA motor you are working on does not have the same pistons.
