Did you clean up the UIM and take a good look at the area known to fail on them? That plastic may not have failed yet, but could still be brittle and in bad shape. Better to know now and catch it before it goes suddenly.

Which gasket set did you use?

Gm gaskets, Looks like the UIM is new? Hey that big plastic tunnel deal that goes up in the bottom of the UIM can that go in both ways? Looks like it can.

Thank you Skydog

If you looked the LIM over carefully and saw no other reason, then yes, that would seem to be the reason for the oil.

Torque spec for Intake Manifold is 11 ft lbs (in sequence)

Here'* the TECHINFO article w/lots of torque specs:
Assembly Torque Specs for 87-99 Bonnevilles

Good catch, Don! I did think they looked pretty good for the years they should have had on them for a '96.

they look VERY good for gaskets out of a 96. I dont even want to bring out the pictures of my gaskets.

Something to note, almost every LIM that i have seen pictures of has had some oil in it. Levels depended upon the condition of the motor and the gaskets.
