What you guys think about the oil?? Bad Lower Intake?

Thank you Skydog snowbank_99@yahoo.com
Sure, email them to me. Email sent to you, just return w/pics.

And, yes, bad lower intake gaskets are the likely culprit.

OK, after some consultation and thinking about it, it looks to me that maybe this engine just suffered from serious LIM gasket failures and maybe not the UIM failure. I'd suggest you get that LIM off and take a couple pics of the gaskets.

Also, clean up the UIM and look carefully to see if it failed as in the TECHINFO post and associated threads (see link earlier in this thread).

if it did fail you should contact a member here named Bob Dillon.

he "re-sleeves" them somehow? im not entirely sure how it works, but i know he charges around 35 dollars or something? and theres several members here running them with success.

beats the heck out of paying 150-200 for a new one.

Did you clean up the UIM and take a good look at the area known to fail on them? That plastic may not have failed yet, but could still be brittle and in bad shape. Better to know now and catch it before it goes suddenly.

Which gasket set did you use?

Lash and I have spoken about this on the sidelines..and figured the gaskets were bad.

Good to get the confirmation. The club has seen that even if the upper is good on these cars...over time and mileage..the gaskets will break down and fail.
