Yes the intake failing can cause oil to go into the cylinders. Happened to me, i just did it Let me guess it was running fine then OOPS start missing and smoking? Riiiight, upper intake galore. Save yourself the money and spend a few days doing that. I got all the parts for about $325. That'* with all new platinum plugs.

Yes, pull both UIM and LIM and replace the UIM and gaskets. There are a few really good threads and a TECHINFO article that'll help. Let me go find it for you...

OK, Back...Read this:
'95-'03 Upper Intake Failure Info

Use the new style LIM gaskets from GM if you can get them. They are superior. Good luck and ask any additional questions here. There is a TON of expertise on this issue here.

Well guys i pulled the upper intake and found it is all full off oil under it!! What is the cause? Hear are some pic.!
