I don't know if this applies to you or not.. but I just changed battery for my 97 FOb and noticed that it says on the inside cover ( If you changed battery, to press lock+unlock near car for 7 seconds..

I just got another one on Ebay...the numbers matched exactly and it worked the first time after following the instructions you guys gave me. I lucked out...it is brand new and was never even used. Thanks for all your help.
