I got to thinking about this last night.

The driver'* side door gets a lot of heat from the sun after noon in my hot climate. However, no problem with the driver'* window, but I seldom roll down the back window.

As the motor returned to normal with the addition of grease to the worm and roller, I have to wonder if the sun didn't cook the old grease in there and jam the gears. Also, this window is now the fastest one to raise or lower.

Anybody have any thoughts on this?

Possibly the heat could have baked the grease and it lost its viscosity. Thus, unable to provide decent lube for the motor. Try lubing up the rest of the motors and see what happens.

I have had the exact same problem on both rear windows. In Phoenix in summer, the chances of one of the rear windows not working was pretty damn good. But anytime it cooled off, or I drove to a cooler climate, they would start working again, with no issues. :?

Thanks for sharing, as, I too, will now try to re-grease the gears and see if it solves my problem.

I guess I should try this too. Both my right windows have not worked for months now. The switches are all fine. After flicking the switch up and down over and over, I got the rear right window to work one day, for a few times that day. Hasn't worked for months.

Now, last week, I tried the front right window for the heck of it, and it works. Has worked since. I couldn't figure out why it started up out of nowhere.

Gentlemen: Given a grease gun with a flexible hose and a zerk fitting from NAPA, the motor doesn't even have to be removed from it'* mount to try this.

And the door panels are a snap to remove.

Got the gun and fitting already. What grease did you use?

I'm betting the greasy kind that was in the gun already. :P
