Default Power Antenna....and HELLO

Hey guys, miss me????? LOL, from what Ive read a few have....giggle.

Just thought I would add to the forum since I havent been on since may 2003...I know...bad bad me.

So I had a run in with my power antenna draining my battery causing it to almost freeze solid but thank God I noticed it before it happened. Didnt know that it was the antenna at first but figured it out though a search on this forum and lots of reading about the relay trying to put it down every 15 or 30 seconds...whatever it was. Anyways if it were not for this forum I would have been lost. So while hooking up the battery this am after being charged all night I heard a clicking, followed it to the trunk and knew right away I had to unhook the antenna, that that was most likely where my problem was coming from. It hasnt being going all the way down for a month or so now. Never thought anything of it though. If I had of known this was an issue I would have delt with it sooner.

Thanks again big time guys/gals!!!!!

One of the problems I ran into when replacing the antenna was that GM could not sell me a direct replacement, just a one size fits all.

Unfortunately this antenna has to be custom installed, a pain in the ***.

Kimmers, glad to hear about the breakup. Bummer you've hooked up already. I'll look elsewhere.

Good to see you again! I had the same problem last year. I got a replacement from the wrecker for 35 bucks. Out of a 97 SE (careful, not all SE'* have power antennas). Works like a charm now.
