i bet you thats its the same problem that ive found with mine, id id everything youve mentioned. plugs, wires, coil packs, ICM, knock sensors cause of the code it was throwing, fuel injectors, oil pressure switch, and the PCM. the reason its not starting back up is because there is no spark at the #1 spark plug. the harness that goes from the ICM, also connects to the crank sensor, and cam sensor. the wires run behind the HArmonic balancer, which may sometime rub against the wire for so long its touching and grounding out killing the spark.

I have a 1995 SE w/ SLE Option package OBD I plug harness but reads OBD II codes. I'd give it a shot !!

Hi guys,

I brought back the one from oreilly and got a new "CARDONE" which was the same as Oreilly at Advance Auto Parts. This one worked!

Goose - I just changed the wires with new belden'* from Napa. I also put brand new NGK'* in also and routed/seperated every wire........and everything else you've mentioned.
What wire are you referring to behind the harmonic balancer....and how would that kill spark to #1 plug?

I'm not familiar with the firing order on these, so if someone can tell me the order ill pull the wire and test it.

Thanks for all the help again.....

Goose,

If you could give clearer details or give me the part number of the harness (maybe a link off rock auto?) .....i can try to see if thats it. I looked around the front pulley and didnt really see any wiring except a round/cylinder looking thing with a ground and two small wires going into it. Was that what you were talking about?

The car is STILL running great tho! Just have the CEL on :(

i was refering to the cam sensor and crank sensor, their bothe behind the hrmonic balancer, its one complete harness that connects to those sensors then it goes to the ICM.

Thanks Goose, when yours was chaffed/worn and causing your #1 to misfire, or not fire at all.......was it running rough? I imagine it would have been....

Where is #1 when looking at the front of the engine bay? I.E. Front left plug...or Rear Left plug .....something like that.

Thanks!

Glade

it wouldnt run at all until i wiggle the harness around a lil bit, and ur #1 plug would be the 1st cylinder on the front side of the motor closet to the ignition control module. farthest to the left ! but u say its running fine so that may have not been the problem. we've all had different problems that we try to fix. thats y we're here for input and output. we all luv our bonnies hopefully !!
