Default ok, transmission?

ok guys i need a little help.
When my engine temps make it up to about 185 to 2 o something, my car has trouble shifting. But if i give it about quarter throttle it shifts normal. If the rmps are over 2500 and the tranny tries to shift, it seems like i loose almost all power and the response is the same wether the pedal is halfway down or to the floor. then it finally shifts at like 4500 rpms. This occurs when trying to shift to 3rd and 4th. shifting from first to second isn't a problem. And i do not have this problem untill the enigne heats up to ^that temp^. When i get on the highway and am over 60 mph there is no problem and the engine runs perfect so i'm guessing it'* the tranny.

All of my fluid levels are fine and i checked all the connections in the transmission lines.
Maybe a tranny flush?
Any help would be great.
thanks.

alright well i can confirm that the people at my dealership are complete f**kin d**ks. They rebuilt my transmission and gave it a 3 yr warranty but they are weasleing there way out of fixing it. "my mechanic dorve it and said there was nothing wrong with the transmission" <--- this is just f**king stupid. so i asked "so, my car dosen't shift and there is nothing wrong with my transmission, huh?" "yep" basically the dumdest thing i've ever heard of. you think that when they rob you blind and put a warranty on something they would follow through well i guess not. bastards. I'm taking my car to the place where i had my engine rebuilt and the guy is gonna check it out and if he can't find out what is wrong w/ it hes gonna take it to a couple tranny shops. now that is a human being. I'll keep you guys posted.

Call Pontiac Customer service. The 800 number can be found on the internet. File a complaint against the dealer. They are very likely to take care of this very quickly for you. I've done this in the past, and it works.

humm. that'* a good idea. i'm gonna take it to the engine rebuild guy today and really figure out what'* wrong and if it'* definatly tranny related then that 800 number is definatly getting hit up. thanks for the idea.

You have to get the mechanic to sit in the seat with you while you drive the car.

well i found out what was exactly wrong w/ the car. it was a cloged cat. too bad i found out too late and the melted a f888ing piston. since it was damage done by heat the warranty on my new engine was voided. it'* probably ganna be 2500 all together to fix(lower motor, brakes are gone, and new cat) considering i already owe my parents 1800 from the previous engine rebuild i'm going to sell the car as soon as i get it fixed. this is the most expensive car i've ever been around before and i can't wait to get rid of this peice of ****. too bad it just couldn't have been the $2000 car i bought in the first place. soon enough i'll be out of debt though and in some little pos stick that won't die on me.
the end.

Ouch.l Sorry to hear that. This is the first I've heard of a melted piston caused by a clogged cat. Best of luck to you.
