Passenger door stuck
somtime last week i decided to pull my door panel off to push out a dent i had in my front passenger side door, and also to "fix" my lock problem...the lock wouldnt work, it wont lock either with the switches nor manually. so i toyed around with the lock system and the door handle rod. but did not disconnect anything or take any bolts/screws out. now the door is stuck in the lock position, and the door is shut. what do i do to get the door open?? the door panel is currently off, and i cant get it back on without opening the door. guys, and or girls...help me please! :(

Try to operate the door lock mechanizm manually. There should be a short tab sticking out where the lock rod attaches to it. Try moving this tab manually. Another option is to try bypassing the door lock switch & apply full 12 volts to the door lock actuator.

If that all checks out, my guess is that the lock rod (either from the inside slider or the outside key lock) is not allowing the unlock mechanism on the latch to move fully into the unlock position. Maybe someone tried to open the door with a Slim-Jim in the past and bent one of the lock rods, which would effectively make it shorter.
Since you can reach inside the door, I would try disconnecting the lock linkage rods and see if you can work the lock mechanism on the latch manually to get the door to unlock. I would try disconnecting the rod from the outside key lock first, then see if the inside lock slider can now unlock the door. If not, put the _outside_ key lock rod back on, disconnect the _inside_ lock slider, and see if a key will open the door.
Sooner or later I think you should get it open all right. At least you have access to the inside of the door; if the panel was in place your problems would be a lot worse... :?
