The engines in Chrysler LH platforms sit like that. It allows the tranny be setup in a way that pushes the front wheels out for the 'cab-forward' campaign they were pushing on those cars. My brother had a 94 ES and a current bodied 98 ES and both were that way.

This is right. Even still in the 2004 Models they are still not your typical transverse FWD setup. MY buddy has replaced a motor for someone that had a the 2.7 motor in their intrepid and he striaght out told me he'd never do another one. The setup is aweful and it took him forever.

20 bucks..... is it too good to be true? i know its lacking a true k&n filter, but what else is missing
I wouldn't buy it. We know nothing about the air filter, no close up pics, etc. Plus they want to sock you with a shipping cost that almost equals the purchase price.

All new model Chryslers have longitudally mounted engines now. It started with the Intrepid in '94 I believe.

Thats why I would never by a Chrysler, because the unrefined transmission design they use, doesn't seem as reliable as the system used by GM in FWD, for over 20 years.

Oh and dont like the name.

Anyways, i think im going to pick up one of those rice pipes from that ebay auction!
Thanks for the link

the Autozone Rice pipe is a better choice for an intake IMO and people will agree with me

i bought that intake

it works fine
i noticed no difference between that and the stock one, but your heat sensor(or whatever that is im not 100% sure) dosent fit into the hole that it comes with so you will end up ruining it without making a slightly larger hole

it is crazy loud on my ssei once it starts to really suck air

not a great product but you get what you pay for
