Wassup guys i just put in a trans that was sitting a couple years and it doesnt take right off from a stop is this normal? will it eventually shift fine or am i gonna have to see the car cause i just paid to fix this car? :(

no from what I can tell that is NOT normal.

What kind of rebuild did you do on the trans?

That'* what my trans is doing right now and it'* not good. It may be a valvebody issue but I'm still not sure yet.

Did you fill up the torque converter before putting the trans on and are you sure there is the correct amount of fluid in it?

Also, if you have the old trans line modulator try swapping it on to the newer trans.

Aight look check this out the when i took this guy the trans to put in i had no lights on just needed a trans now my service engine light goes on and off and traction off stays on and my car hesitates but the trans shifts fine but it wont take off right away i gotta start it off from 2 :(

1. Please put your year and model in your signature. We can't help you until you do.
2. Try to express yourself a little more clearly. Using slang and abbreviations when describing technical detail doesn't work very well.
3. By 'traction is on' I assume you mean the LIGHT? That means traction is OFF. Check the wiring to the backs of the hubs for the wheel speed sensors. He probably broke or disconnected one.

In the long run, I'm beginning to gather that you got what you paid for. It sounds like a used trans that wasn't serviced, and it was installed by a sub-par mechanic at best.

Until you pull codes there isn't alot we can do for now.
