Default Ok need a diagnosing on a 99

Ok.Seems as though it is getting sluggish on the pedal. And at time its kind surges when I apply the gas pedal. Now myself not being a mechanic I am assuming it is the fuel filter. If so how hard is it to replace? Also mine has 99,000
on it and I am looking at taking her into the shop for a "tune up"...any suggestions?
What about a K&N Filter...pros/cons?

My 99 SE has done the same thing over the course of 151,000 miles. I have fixed it in the past by changing the fuel filter and cleaning the throttle body. I think the throttle body cleaning solves 90% of the sluggishness.

Unless it'* rusty at the front where the line screws in, then the problem starts. You should'nt have rust though.... you're in Texas.

Not like up here in NH but with enough silicone spray anything is easy to get off But yeah, when they're rusty you have to be carefull so you don't twist or bend the line.

how old/new are your plugs and wires?

Old and out of gap plugs can cause poor performance too.
