Default Oil Burning off of engine somewhere ? 1997 - 3.8L

Hi I have a supercharged engine with 149K. I have never changed any gaskets on it but how this problem started it I smelled horrendous OIL burning smell so any normal person would know it'* coming off exhaust at engine bay. I can't think of any other place?

So here is what I have done

1 - Closest valve cover to front of car BOLTS were all tight. There was a caking of oil all over the lower part of valve cover and along the side at rear of engine so I went and degreased it all and high pressure washed all of the front of the engine, valve cover itself and backside of engine completely clean. Everything looked great, we didn't get underneath car and spray up under it at all. We haven't looked under exhaust pipes with a mirror yet.

We went for a ride for 30 minute ride and came home.

Opened the hood and oil was burning off huge out of front of engine with SMOKE. Just like the movies!

Notes:

1- Yes I see oil residue on intake side of valve cover on front.
2- Power of the engine is perfect, no lose of power

I'm concerned it may be a head gasket as I've read these cars have problems with them. I'd like to hope it'* just valve covers with new GROMETS.

Guys any ideas? I can't find where it'* coming from!

No smoke comes out of other side of valve cover area(near firewall)

things I've done to engine:
20 k ago water pump change
serpentine belt
thermostat - lower temp one

I don't know where you read that 3800'* have head gasket problems, they don't.

But there is a known issue with the valve cover gasket leaks oil onto the front exhaust manifold. You should get that valve cover gasket changed ASAP. That issue has been known to cause fires and destroy cars.
