I don't have any idea what would cause it, but once in a while under acceleration, the front end will shift rapidly from left to right shaking the whole car, but doesn't affect the steering wheel what-so-ever. What would cause this?

Engine mounts.

Wouldn't it be more frequent though? It happens maybe once a week. If that is the case though, do they make solid or poly mounts for our cars?
