Default Noisy strut mounts

Since I've owned my car there'* been a creeking noise from the front end at low speed when turning the wheel. On the advice of some BC members, I greased the mounts form the top with some spray lithium grease and it helps for a little while. If I get the mounts replaced, I'm doing new struts and an alignment. That being said, it'* going to cost about $500. If I don't do this, what is going to happen? Currently the car seem to track straight.

Right, but what happens if I don't replace them. If it'* just an annoying noise I'll keep the money for now.

Far as I know..it'* simply an annoyance. I have heard of them getting very bad when ignored for years, never heard of breakage or more issues caused from it besides being nutty from the noise.
