It shows no codes but maybe because the computer is bad. My scan tool reads for a while then it just flashes 4 eights, doesn't just show a single zero like my pickup does. Is my computer dead?

Check your battery connections. Make sure they are tight and clean

Greg, the car is cranking, just not starting. And he'* missing the 12v supply to the ICM. The problem isn't the battery connections.

Jumped wire from positive battery terminal to icm wire and it ran. don't know what the problem is, scan tool flashes all 8s, but iti doesn't matter now because the rod bearings are torched, thanks for the ideas guys.

Its a car I got really cheap from a guy who bought it from an auction and never heard it run just crank. It needed a fuel pump at least and he doesn't work on cars. so this is obviously why it was at the auciton

still gonna have the ignition problem when I rebuild the engine.

You'll have to trace that pink wire back to the fuse block. There may be a connection where 2 wiring harnesses come together but there are no relays or anything else between the fuse block & ICM. Maybe the wire was cut to hide the fact that the motor is bad.
