I've been trying to firgure this problem out for sometime now. I have a 95 sse with the digital LCD climate control. I only get air flow through the defrost vent and the floor vent. I check the black line the runs through the engine and cannot find any crack or leaks.
I also check the multi-colored tube under the passanger side and found the violet tube. the male connectors seem soft but not loose enough to pull the tubes out. I can not seem to find away to disconnect the plastic block that holds the multi-colored tubes. The previous threads about this topic have lead me to a dead end. Should I replace the black plastic black holding the tubes?

How about the black box just to the passenger side of the brake booster? There should be no empty vacuum ports on the bottom of it.

That can be a tough one to spot. It looks like an extension of the maxifuse relay center. Between the relay cover and the WS wiper motor.

I needed to feel around near the bottom of mine, and the hose was old, rotted and had fallen off. Once replaced with fresh hose. All was very good again.

Once you find that vacuum storage tank when you pull the tube off the bottom that goes to the inside of the car you should get a whoosh as air rushes in and that should be about 15 seconds after the motor is turned off. That would tell you there are no hose leaks or leaks in that plastic tank.

Then you're ready to think about the inner tubes where you found the violet tube. I took out the multiple connector and direct connected each tube inside the programmer box to the correct tube outside the box-hint the colors don't match so make a list before you take out the connector. I used 1/8 inch gas line as a sleeve over the two tubes to connect them.

what hose(*) are you talking about. I look today at the black box in the engine that hold the air I found 2 rubber lines connect on the front. Both where on tight but look old and worn.

1st line: Hard black rubber (that I broke taking off) changes from black to violet
2nd line: Soft rubber that goes to the air compressor and the engine


For a brief 3 minutes I had air flow through the vents when I switched position of the 2 black rubber lines on the black box.


I think the broken hard rubber line might be a culprit in not having air flow through the vents. For the mean time i tapped the line back together.

Should I change the rubber connectors that hold line to the black box in the engine??

How the hell do you take the plastic multi-tube connector out from under the passanger side hush panel without breaking the plastic.??

You have to loosen the bolts/nuts on the front of the black box to open it just enough so the connector can slide out. The connector has channels on each side that slide into fittings in the box. The bolts are hard to see and even harder to get a socket on, but it can be done. Remove the hush panel, lay on your back, use a light to look at the front of the box (toward the passenger seat) and loosen the bolts a little bit at a time. I used a flat bladed screwdriver to pry the box open just enough to get the connector out without having to take the bolts all the way out.

I fixed the problem.

All I did was:

1. Take hush panel on passanger side off
2. Remove the multi-colored tube connector (I used a flat head screw driver and broke the plastic a little)
3. Some rubber programmer will pop off when you remove it ( its hard to get back on)
4. Replaced the violet tube with the blue tube.
5. Some how some way get the rubber programmer back on the male ends. ( It hard I only got 2 out of 4 plugs back on but remember to plug the blue tube back up)
6. replace all the factory stuff.
