Default New plan, hope it can work.

Not trying to stump you, I am stumped. Can I remove the engine from a '96 SSEi and replace it with a 3800 from a '93 SE? I understand that the wiring will have to be changed, can that be done? I also understand that the computer will have to be changed and all of these things seem to be a reasonable answer to my problem. Then comes the trans hook up. The '96 has a 4T60-E F-31 according to the build sheet. The '93, if I am seeing it right has a 4T60-E. So, somebody please tell me that I just got lucky today. Thanks. The background is that I got ripped off and bought a roller. The engine was full of Texas sweet crude and I found the bearings in the oil filter. After having the insurance and tags changed, now I am borrowing my bro'* mini-van. YeeHaw. I do not mind removing the SSEi badges if I can just get behind the wheel again soon. The cost of another motor is mostly too high for me, when I can find one. Still looking though. Thanks all.
