Default New Owner of a 92 SSEi

I am a proud owner of a 1992 SSEi. i still have one of my 90 SSE'* also. the one i bought is White with the white rims. it has grey leather interior and power moonroof. it has the factory CD player and the performance shift buttons. it also has the 9 way power seats. I bought the car with only one problem: the supercharger bearings need replacing. how much is going to cost me? can i do it myself? i only paid $1250 for the car.

What are the symptoms of the supercharger problem?

See if you can listen and tell us what the noise is. Also try taking the belt off and spinning the supercharger pulley. Is it hard to turn? Spin it back and forth. Is there any play in it?

Dealers have been known to make that up, possibly to sell you a new car. Have an independant mechanic check it out if you test it and still thing it might be bad.
