Default new motor for ontario canada?

Well i posted about my oil pressure dropping, itook the car in to my mech, he'* worked on the car since i owned it, and always gives me the strait deal. he said he could replace the oil pump, but the top end is dry and whatever damage is done, so it'* a gamble, he recomends a replacement motor, he found a used one with 140klms and 1 year warranty on it, but it in total will cost me 3000.00 dollars!!!is there anyone around here that know were to get motors for a reasonable cost, i have checked some wreckers and they want 1000.00 for a motor, i found one without a super, and one including a superchager, but i think there has to be a cheaper way, some rebuilers or something, i live in Toronto ontario, anyhow can help me with web links or anything would be great! considering i have alot of money into this car, 2 new ball joints, new motor mount, two new front tires, new front brakes wagner thermos, and the guy i bought the car from has all paper work on it, a aamco tranny still under warrenty, that bill was 4414.00, so i don't want to scrap it. thanks for any help guys!

It would help if we knew what car you have... I would also recommend posting about this on www.ontariobonnevilleclub.com

That way you can get the opinions of locals on what the best place to buy a motor would be. (personally, I haven't found anything better than a wrecker motor for 1000)

best of luck on your search!
