I found a really nice and clean one owner Bonneville SSE with 93k miles, Car is super clean, not even a speck of dirt on the interior. Engine bay is clean, and drives good. I payed $2900 with tax, title, doc fee etc.. is this a good deal?

some things that will need to be addressed:
will need sway bar end links soon- clunking when going over bumps

intake manifold has some seepage not leaking real bad however you can see some wetness. How much to replace the gaskets? can this be done at home?

Steering is unsually tight to turn, check fluid and it at a good level.

When the car is at rest at a red light the oil pressure drops to around 30-35 psi then jumps to about 50-60 psi when you give it some gas. IS this normal?

there is a knocking sound from the front passenger side area of the engine I can hear it at night time when stopped at a red light. Is there any lubricant etc I can put in to make it quieter?

This is my 2nd bonneville the last one I had was a 91 I got rid of it 4 years ago and it had 130k on it.

How is the 94 3.8L compared to the improved 95 Series II design? I know it is lacking 30hp other than that is is just as reliable/durable? What caused the 30hp increase new heads/cams??

Sway bar shouldnt' cause clunking unless somethings broken. On endlinks search on Ringy noises. Energy Suspension bushings work great.

Intake manifold. It can be at home if you are comfortable working on a car. Fuel rail, TB, intake, lower intake. Clean and reassemble. Do lower and uppers...it'* worth the lowers. Probably 40-60 Do injector o rings at the same time.

Steering tight... the bonnes are pretty tight. how is is when moving?

Oil pressure: sounds very good. Maybe a little on the high side. What viscosity of oil is in it? And are those warmed up numbers?

Knocking sound..Is this only at night? That would be odd. Need more info on this one.

There'* much more on this subject, so take some time to search on "UIM" or "Intake Manifold" for more info. Then repost here when you have more questions.

That article is very out of date. The plastic intake problems do not affect 92 1/2 to 94 L27'*.

Well, it'* interesting that you point that out, since I had also believed that it was only the Series II NA intakes that were affected, but then, I was searching for some info and saw the article referenced above...and said "hmmmm, didn't know that..."

Perhaps that article should be removed or updated...???

so do you guys think I got a decent deal on the car or did the dealer take me for a ride. I just cant believe how clean the car is, that and the fact it was loaded to the max was the reason I got the car.

one other thing I noticed was that the sport ride and touring ride buttons by the shifter do not engage they are both lit up.

and for the shifter lights, your CCR has dected a problem....disable the CCR as per the directions in Techinfo....

The dealer changed the oil for me and the coolant looks great nice and green I have one of those cheap prestone radiator fluid testers and it is in the good area. Dealer said they flushed and filled the radiator fluid before the sale as well.

I have looked for cadilliacs and bonnevilles for the last month and under 3k they were beat to hell or needed allot of tlc, untill I came across this one. There was one more I found however it was stripped and had over 100k they wanted $2400 for it.
