The steel lines original to the 90 will not fit the fuel rails of the 97. Also, I've already replaced about 2 feet of the steel line and the rest kinda scares me. That means that that the tank, sender and lines need to be swapped.

Are you going to keep the original dash in there? will you have to modify it to work with the new computers? with a pulley intake and exhaust you will be adding 100 horsepower ... there is no emoticon for what i am feeling...

Definately using the original cluster. Since it doesn't have a boost gauge, I'm at least going to have one aftermarket gauge. If one of the gauges in the cluster is not compatible and I can't find a solution then I can maybe handle a total of 2 aftermarket gauges. Any more than 2 then I start throwing a fit.

You could just get one of those sweet a-pillar pods and stick some guages in there, boost, tranny cooler, beer can level etc. Hopefully everything wil work perfectly, have to loked into the speedo and tach guages?

From psycho'* description, a 97 sender was installed in his 96 and didn't work properly because the 97 has a 40/250 sender and the 96 has a 0/90 (?). Haro tried a 96 cluster in a 95 and the gauge was wonky as well.

Can we maybe get the sender values for each year out of the FSMs?

MOS already has the values for the 98 which we'll say is 40/250

OK. That clears things up. Did your fuel gauge ever go over 1/4 tank when you had the 97 cluster in there?

I'm thinking that the correct sending unit just needs to match the cluster. Since changing the sender isn't too fun then the board in the cluster may be able to be changed. I have 2 92/93 clusters here and will see if it corrects the fuel gauge problem just by swaping boards.

Randy - you can probably swap that little board I changed out. As I remember all the main boards seem identical as well. Einstien confirmed for me that those little blobs on the board were not resistors but instead integrated circuits like the larger chips.

I see one of two ways to check it out.

A) Bite the bullet like Andrew told me to do and "just do it"
B) Pull the dash apart and measure across the spots where the gauge pins would be to get the readings...

Ok...Before I start a RANT like Foamy...(hehe) here'* the way I seei ti now. You could take that baby board and swap it to either your original dash or the one I gave you w/o one, or you could consider putting your main pcb into the 97 cluster and pray the autocalibrate works on its own.
