noise
Do you mean sputtering as in a skip or sputtering as in an exhaust leak?
|
Any stumbling with the TC locked up, especially under load climbing a slight incline is ignition.
Remove your coils and go through all this: http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...mode=cat&cat=9 Then remove your plug wires and measure each of them by number and post the results here. Inspect each wire for it's entire length looking for carbon scoring where it may be arcing out through the insulation. |

I had this problem as well and it turned out to be plugs AND wires. One plug had cracked, and one wire had fallen against the O2 sensor and burned itself. Of course the Check Engine light didn't bother coming on until both cylinders were bad.

Until you measure your wire resistance and the primaries and secondaries on the coils, we can't help you. |
A quick test for the coils is to unplug both wires from one coil and start the car. There should be an arc between the two. Repeat as necessary for other coils.
