I have a 95 Bonne (Sig kinda gives it away..lol)...

Here'* the deal. Geoff was kind enough to sell me a mint condition Cadillac rear view mirror with compass and it'* auto-dimming. Sweet deal. I go to mount it tonight and while it DOES fit on the metal piece on the windshield, it'* kinda loose. I tried bending the metal in it a little but no such luck, still a bit loose. Maybe I am doing something wrong? The one I have with the car also has a screw to put tension ...so like..maybe I'm missing a part here...

Anyone that has ANY ideas on this, let me know. Otherwise I'll be fabricating this weekend and modifying it cause i'll be damned if this thing doesn't go in my car.....

There are (from what I've heard) two sizes of that metal piece. You should be able to get a new metal piece at the parts store.

And how do I go about mounting it to the windshield? (I know nothing about these things)
Also how do I remove the old one?

walk into any auto parts store and ask for Rear View Mirror glue/mounting kit...

The other questions I have while I'm here, related to mounting this mirror, whoever can answer would be great.

This mirror came from a Cadillac, it has 5 wires, I wanted to know if anyone knew which ones power the mirror and compass.
Also, how do I remove the sunroof control and run the wire up there, I was thinking of tapping the power from that since it goes on with ignition and is right there.

Here'* a picture of the mirror so maybe someone can help me figure out what wire is what, etc etc.
