We just had to replace the engine in our '97 bonne SE @ about 135-140k miles, and I was wondering about the reliability of this thing (we are dropping about $1200 on it and we dont want it to be for nothing). Anyways, I was wondering if you guys could tell me for how many miles u have had ur bonne and what kinda major (>$250 in repairs) problems you have encountered. Here is an example of what im lookin for...

Me: 50k-140k miles, major engine fix

162k miles, most I'v had to fix was a new air box.

In general, we've got a few cars here over 200,000 miles, and running strong. Those cars usually crap a tranny before an engine. Yours sounds a bit premature to me.

JSeabert doesn't spend much time here during the school week (my neighbor) so I'll speak for his car. He just replaced the gaskets from the heads up in the last month at 180,000. His car is still strong, and pulls right to the line.

I've had nothing major or minor on my drivetrain, but I only have 80k.
