Default In middle of strut job - knuckle problem

I put my strut together and inserted it into the car. The knuckle does not line up. There is about an inch to go before the holes line up.

We tried to compress the spring while it was in there but the spring compressor rides up against the top of the car making it pretty much impossible.

Any advice?

Monroe struts.

Same problem as this guy: http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ut+knuckle+bar

But he compressed it - like I said. My Spring compressor is too long. If I force it to compress it'll punch a hole through my car.

I can pretty much guarantee that I put the strut together correctly. Which is why I don't understand why only so few of us have come across this problem. I followed all of the guides here.

Whoever thought of a giant pry bar, I love them.

Used the bar to press down on the control arm allowing the holes to line up.

make sure that you unhook outer tierod, ball joint, and swaybar pin. if that isn't your problem, make sure you have the right struts
