The rice pipe should make no difference than the stock air box. Its just filtered air either way.
Maybe you knocked a vacum line loose somewhere? Thats what it sounds like to me, look around the lower intake and throttle body. Follow the line around and make sure all the connections are solid.
Did you set the 'SES" light? Can you scan for error codes?

I am going to check that tomorrow, weather permitting hopefully. Under the rear passenger door you guys say? I'll dig around and see if I can find some pics or a tutorial on here.

Fuel filter didn't do it. $550 and a new fuel pump later.... God damn, I think that'* the last major repair that'* going into this vehicle.

$550? OUCH. That pump only cost them 100 bones in parts. Dealer, huh?

it is only a 4 hour job on our cars for the most part. Even the most expensive dealer here charges 70 an hour.

I feel your pain Sully. I got the royal reaming myself earlier this year. Except mine was more complicated and WAY more expensive. I got my raping at the dealer and it made me walk funny afterwards... They charge almost $90/hr down here.

Ah, well, live and learn....
