Default Massive brake failure 94 SE 90,000miles

Very very lucky, just drove this car from Florida to Chicago last week. Happened while getting gas yesterday, wife said the brake light came on when she started car, looked at master cylinder, it was low, bought brake fluid and filled it up, told her to pump brakes and then it happened, brake fluid on the engine and on the ground. Had car towed to Pontiac dealer, said the steel brake lines going to modulator were rusted thru. They said 1000 to 1500 bucks for lines and modulator.
You northern guys better look at yours. Will check my 93 when back in Florida.
Looks like we're going to be a one Bonnie family. Dealer offered me 500.00 trade on new car.
Wife said goodby GM, hello Nissan Altima pewter V6 w/camel leather.

That was the Pontiac dealer'* quote. I'm having the car towed to a local shop and having the lines only replaced.

I was told about 300 bucks for the lines. Don't know if all are rusted thru. This Chicago winter and salt really destroy cars.
Is the modulator part of abs system?

Went back to dealer confirmed he didn't have to replace modulator but would still estimate bill to be between $500.00 and $1500.00 .
Had car towed to local shop $190.00 all 3 lines complete.

I'm very happy!!!!
ABS Traction control light have been on for 6 months, its the front hub that needs replacing. People that did lines quoted $380.00 incl tax.. Part was $212.00 on GM direct. The shop quoted $280.00 for part and $80.00 labor, $70.00 not worth potential problems.
