Default map sensor??

what are the symptoms of a bad map sensor my boost isint what it should be im getting like 8 psi WOT in 3rd and the higher rpm the lower boost i get seems like it fluxuates and stedaily drops also is shifting weird.. sometimes not at all ........ id appreciate sum input from the experts please

Ya, a bad MAP could cause those problems. That sensor tells the PCM what the outside pressure is and helps set the AFR. I don't have a test for it in tech info, but you would need a vacuum source and then read the voltage from the sensor.

ok thanx man i replaced the LIM and cleaned the intake and the turbines on sc so im gonna get a new map sens this week theyre only 62 bucks....... and i have one more question my car has a rebuilt trans from salvage yard from previous owner it says 4t60e on bottom of pan is that right one for my car or is there only one that will fit on my car

That is the correct transmission for your car.

Check to make sure you didn't damage the vacuum line that goes to the MAP.

its not damaged just worn out i believe imma get new one soon imgonna replace all vac lines and map sensor at one time and see where that gets me thanx for the help man i appreciate it

Don't forget Dan, we have different "flavors" of 4T60-E'*. That donor trans could have come out of a minivan for all we know. Only way to find out if he has the "right" one for his particular car is to verify the model from the tag on the backside of the trans.

where is the tag at and i will check it and post because i dont really trust where this guy had it put in at theyre kinda shady they would b the type to put a minivan trans and say here you go didnt know till afterthe fact of purchase where he got it from:/

she doesnt go in to overdrive at all nor will it down shift ever every now and then when she gets up to 220 degrees and the fans come on some thime it will go into OD but runs like its clogged up or something and i have a gutted cat

You would have to raise the front of the car off the ground, ie ramps or jacks. Crawl underneath and look up between the firewall and the trans. You will see a metal tag. Look for a number that says something like 4BXW. It always starts with a number and letters. It could start with a 7 also.

How does the fluid look? If it'* dark the filter might be clogged.
