Default Lower Ball Joint...99ssei

Yep, finally replaced the front struts, and the inner CV joint boot of both sides axle. I remove the axle from the vehicle and mistakenly disconnected the lower ball joint. I was told I didn't really have to.
I do have a question, I disconnected the lower ball joint from where it connects to the axle. I noticed that there was a nut, and a safety pin. I proceeded by removing it and used the fork tool for separation. But I torn the lower ball joint seal, so I was wondering if anyone knew the part # for that seal, or should I replace the ball joint, if replace where would I get that tool that removes the ball joint from the lower arm.

Thanx.

There'* no tool, you torch off the rivets and bolt the new one on.

I think I know exactly what your saying. Son when you order it, the ball joint comes placed on that plate that connects to the lower arm by rivets... all in one, I thought you could take the balljoint from that plate and, use a special tool like a press action, like the book says. Is this way easier than it is in case you don't have that tool?

I understood that a bad ball joint can be very dangerous...

There is no tool, the only way to change it is to replace the actual joint and the mounting plate that it comes with. You must remove the OEM rivets and then install the new ball joint with the bolts that come with it. Make sure you torque the bolts to the specified torque value.
