I would like to put the least amount of money in as possible. As far as the flaring process goes: Say I want to attach to separate pieces (like a splice) of line. Do I put the same double flare on each piece? Also what are the nuts called that I need? Thanks.

yes double flare both sides of the line you cut. the nuts are "line nuts" not sure where ur splicing, but id bet its 3/16.

**VERY important, remember to put the line nuts on BEFORE you start the flare. i have forgotten that a few times, and it sucks.

also, use a tubing cutter to assure that you have square, flush cuts. and also remove any burrs as well.

**UPDATE** I ended up bringing it to a shop and I am getting it back today. The guy is charging $100, and I think he replaced the line. I haven't seen it yet. He also said the brakes were hard to bleed because the bleeder screws were stuck. THanks for everyones help. I don't think I would have been able to fix it myself, plus the weather hasn't been too great and I don't have a garage or anything. Thanks again.
