The "typewriter" is probably your lifters...sounds like they may have leaked down. I assume they quit clickin' as the engine ran? More importantly, however - what was your oil pressure when you started it up again?

I let it run for a few minutes....lifters did quiet down a bit, but I hear them faintly.
I got the idea to check the oil while the engine was running....why not, right?
Turns out this time I see choco-choco milk on the dipstick. Plans are to pull the UIM/LIM sometime within the next 2 weeks to replace the gaskets. Would all I need to do is replace the gaskets and the stovepipe, or a new UIM completly? I'll post pics along the way for much needed help. Thanks!

If the engine will run without knocking, you may be able to get some more useful life out of it. I am concerned though, because of your initial post where you said the engine was knocking until it stalled. If you repair it then learn the bearings are trashed, you can always remove and swap the new parts onto a donor engine. I would install the LIM gaskets with a minimum amount of RTV silicone, just using a dab in the corners so that subsequent removal will go easily if needed. After you fix the LIM/UIM, I would advise you to flush the oil and filter a couple of times by filling with cheap thin oil like Wal Mart Tech 5W30. Run this for about five minutes, drain it and change it and the filter. Run the next batch for about 30 minutes, then drain it and put in better oil and a filter.

Alright guys, I know it has been 2 months since we last got to talking about my engine...but I just now found time to work on it since we are out for spring break.
I pulled the upper and lower intake manifold today....I had some problems, but eventually figured it out...here are some pics.
This is the top view of the lower intake manifold....does it look ok? Also, I had a hell of a time because I could not get the hose that you see on the left loose. I had to disconnect it from the other side of where it was connected....any idea on how to take that hose off?
This is the top view of the upper intake manifold.
This is the underside of the upper intake manifold....lots of black stuff in it too! Where is the stovepipe supposed to be?
This is the inside of the engine after taking off the upper and lower intake manifold...does it all look in order? Do I need to pull the heads at this point for anything?
Took a pic of the throttle body while I had it there....does it look ok?
So guys, what is the next step in this equation?
